  • ROW HOUSE CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

    DOSHKA CHATT

“I would like to express what an asset Kyle Clark is to Row House. My fitness and weight loss journey has definitely been one for the books. When I joined Row House, under the management of Kyle, I found a love for a sport that I didn’t even know existed. One month after classes commenced, I lost my mother due to Covid-19. I rowed and rowed and rowed to make the pain go away. There were times where I cried in the dimly lit room while I rowed and pushed my body to its capacity.

One day, Kyle came to me and said, “Doshka, you are one of top 10 in the studio in attendance this month!” and I cried. You see, I am not the fittest, smallest nor tallest in the bunch. So to hear that I am top 10 while rowing through my pain encouraged me. I attended Kyle’s “power hour” classes to prepare for the half marathon. When the half marathon came, I remember being on that erg with 2000 meters to go and Kyle came and kneeled by my erg and encouraged me through. This was the first time I completed a “half marathon” anything. I felt unstoppable and it is because of him. Because of his energy and support I found a family within Row House.”

“It has been a joy having Kyle as a coach and as manager of Row House. Your website highlights three main goals/elements of training at Row House: The Science, The Experience, and The Results. I feel that Kyle has been instrumental in facilitating all three of these goals for me as a member.

The Science: Kyle is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to all things health and fitness. And not only does he know what he is talking about, he is able to relay this information to the members in a way that is easy to understand. I am a person who needs to know the WHY behind something and he is always prepared with an answer.

The Experience: Kyle makes working out fun. He goes above and beyond to put together playlist and programs that make classes more than just a workout. He pushes me to work harder than I would have done on my own. A few months ago we did a half marathon challenge. When this was announced I had no intention of participating but Kyle gave me a pep talk and convinced me to give it a go. I'm happy to say I had a great bonding experience with my fellow members and performed better than expected.

The Results: I have watched my meters climb and my split times drop over my months at Row House. This is something I could have never accomplished without Kyle and rest of the amazing coaches.

I hope he continues to have the opportunity to do what he did for myself and this community somewhere in the future!”

    ANDREA DOLLINGER

“By definition a coach is a person who trains or gives guidance for a specific activity. I was highly successful and athletic growing up and remain fairly active into my adult life. I have crossed paths with many trainers, coaches and instructors to help guide me to be my best and reach my highest potential. Kyle, by far, stands out above the rest.

When I joined Row House I was looking to get back in shape. I had recently had surgery on my shoulder and I used this as a crutch to avoid gyms and workout studios in fear I would lift my arm the wrong way and dislocate my shoulder and feel utter embarrassment and pain. Row House seemed like a low impact way to get back in shape and use my arms in ways to strengthen my shoulder. In the back of my mind, I thought this would be another failed attempt to get back in shape... but I didn’t have anything to lose.

My first class was with Kyle and it was a game changer. It was challenging but Kyle was so motivating the class seemed to fly by. I was totally exhausted but couldn’t wait to go back. And I kept going back, because Kyle motivated me and constantly challenged me to be better.

I have always wanted to complete a half marathon running. In reality this will probably never happen, however, because of Kyle I pushed myself and completed a half marathon on the rowing machine. He went above and beyond to create engaging classes to help train me and others to achieve this goal. In February, only 3 months after first getting on a rower,I was able to achieve this goal in 1 hour and 42 minutes. I would not have been able to complete this without Kyle. The other coaches are great, however, Kyle’s classes and energy are what kept me going back to Row House.

I will continue to attend Row House as it has been great for my physical and mental health, however, it will not be the same without Kyle. He is an amazing coach, trainer and all around good person. I will miss his passion and energy, and hope he continues to be involved with Row House in some capacity!”

“Hello and thanks for taking the time out of your day to read this testimonial. I am writing this in regards to Kyle Clark. I attended his last class at Row House, along with many other classes. I asked him for information on where to send a testimonial because I am so sad to lose him as a coach and believe you should know how special he was to us. I am 33 years old, with two kids, and have tried so many work outs. I have paid a lot of money to trainers, gyms, classes, and with covid online work out places. I started back at the gym, but saw a girl’s transformation on Facebook who had been taking Kyle’s classes.

She told me about Kyle, and to try one of his classes. I didn't know the routine, so I called and got in with a different coach and was pretty unsure about rowing. I tried it again, and loved Kyle's class. From the moment I walked in the door, he knew I was indecisive, and he made sure (again) I knew what I was doing, and I was comfortable. He welcomed me in front of the class, obviously I liked the attention, because I joined in late November and started as many of Kyle's classes as I could! I had a mass removed from my neck in late December and I could only do a few workouts from home for two weeks that were cleared by the doctor. I could hear Kyle's motivation in the background as I got frustrated with home workouts.

He says things like, if you're uncomfortable this is when your body changes. If you're tired it is mental not physical. And I have never agreed more! I had a Hawaii trip planned earlier this year, and I pushed my body to its limit for it, and never looked better. I wore a bikini for the first time in 8 years. I felt good about myself on vacation, and when making food choices on vacation I remembered his advice of "have what you want at times, it’s ok to treat yourself".

His classes were addicting and I was attending two a day if my schedule would allow it. He had a Michael Jordan themed class, and I even loved that one, and I didn't know the first thing about Michael Jordan. His clubbed theme class was about the most fun I have ever had working out. I have never loved working out as much as I did with Kyle, and his motivation is unmatched. My energy was back, my stomach was tighter, my squats were lower, and I loved going to work out. I don't dislike the other coaches, but their styles are not the same, the distance and calories are unmatched when Kyle teaches. He breaks the norm and pushes you farther than you ever thought you could go (Then you are so glad he did when you leave), and he would throw in surprises all the time.

I referred many friends to Row House based on my experience with Kyle, and I still haven't been back since his last class. I miss working out but I feel the dread of "going to the gym" again like I used too. I have begged Kyle to stay in touch so he can continue to motivate me towards my goals. I think he's an amazing fit for all, whether it be moms, dads, people who are serious about getting into shape, and deserves a lot of credit. Thanks for everything!”
